When the museum founders regularly traveled across Europe and North America on business years ago, its was in Holland that they first, by chance, discovered miniature art. They were deeply attracted to this small but very real world, and soon it became an irreplaceable part of their live. They also joined the International Guild of Miniature Artists, attended a wide range of international exhibition and auctions and began collecting ever more exquisite pieces of miniature art. In 1993, they began actively drawing up plans for the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan, and also made several visits to Europe and America in order to procure miniature artworks. They are also actively cultivating local artistic talent in order to create miniature art that reflects the unique traits of Taiwanese culture. We desire that our museum will help Taiwan appreciate miniature art as well as encourage local resident to take up the art. We desire that people of all ages will be able to share in the wonders of miniature art.
